New songs around the corner

It is been a while since we updated, and there is  a good reason for it. Yes, the new songs are nearly here.  The final mixes are done for Summer Joy and Two Years Too Late. Mastering being done while Im writing this.  We like the outcome soo much and very very excited what people will say about it.  Recently we are promoting it on twitter and will make it available for download to our followers.  This run will be an excelent way to recieve some honest and direct feedback. The beauty of the internet I guess.

The offical release is  under consideration. We still need to do videos for the songs, and this might take some more time. Slowly but shurely.

Happy New Year – Check out what we been up to

So here is 2012, and exciting new year. We done a few things recently, one is the song called Mr Hacker. The reason this song was born is, that someone hacked into our twitter account and sent spam to all of our followers. Noo good! But we felt like writing a silly little song about it. You can listen and download it from here.   Mr Hacker is not available anymore.

Other stuff we have done is one of our new song, called Winner.

We are recently writing new songs, becouse we want this year to be busy and filled with our music.

Layefa’s Wave

To have a passion to feed

I would say it is an exciting thing to be able to play an instrument or to sing. It can be very rewarding, (if not financially at the begining) but at least…how to put this….spiritually? You know when you have a passion what makes you forget about all the problems and helps you through the hard times. It relaxes the brain and the soul, and flies you to a different dimension, so you can be engaged  with your only passion.

Of course it isn’t easy and sometimes you lose perspective due to everyday struggle or other difficulties, a person might have in his/her life. Especially if you are not a full time musician and you have those damn bills to pay. Oh yes.  Get to work, then back and have some rest, eat something and the majority of your day is bam…gone. If you stay up late to feed your passion, then you will be tired next day at work so it can put you off big time. But then you listen to the songs you recorded and it makes the whole thing worthwile.

When we have finished recording Too Years Too Late, I left the studio and rushed to the bus station at High Wycombe. Of course the last bus home was gone and it was raining like there is no tomorrow. I was looking for a cab office or something to get home but by the time I find one i was soaking wet. I looked like I had a shower with my clothes on. I was wondering if the cab driver will let me sit in the car. But it didn’t bother me. I was glad that all the recording went smooth and we were all happy with the outcome.

So in the end of the day It only matters what you like to do in life, and then all your days will be the brightest even if it pissing down rain for a whole week.

Demo versions of two songs

Hi there,

We had a rehearsal yestarday at Layefa’s head quarters in Hackney and we recorded the acoustic versions of the songs – Summer Joy and Secrets.  We recorded it with Chaba’s 8 Tarck recorder but we only used the internal mics of the thing, just to keep it simple. Technical stuff can kill creativity somtimes, and we wanted to focus on the performance more than the actual recording process.  The quality is still enjoyable.  I will only put one link here and the other song will appear on the right side bar. Studio work is hard work….

We recorded two of our own songs in the studio. They going to be mixed and mastered, so some post production has to be done. I am a bit tired, but had a few great days while recording the material. Our young and talented producers and sound engineers Dan and Olly made the whole process quite exciting for us, and they done an excellent job. So big thanks to the guys, we are looking forward to hear the final mix.

First Single and Video Coming Soon!

We have great news! We are coming out with our first single,  acompanied with an animated video in the near future, ye! It is so exciting for us. There are no dates yet, but it will be around the end of 2011 or early 2012.  Due to the fact, that we are a self promoting DIY band with no professional media back up,  it might take some time. We work hard on the song at the rehearsals and on the computer,  putting together the pieces of the animated video.  I will update if any info comes up regarding the work process. We will also let you take a peek behind the scenes…more interesting things to come!

 

Gig in London Rhum Jungle

We had the opportunity to perform at Rhum Jungle London, on friday the 11th. It was a great gig. We have played three songs – Summer Joy, 2 years too late, and Winner. There were many other great performers and we enjoyed their show as well. Big thanks to Desreen to make this happen!
